An Antenatal Teacher provides classes that are relevant to expectant or new parents.

Antenatal Teachers may run a variety of classes including:

• prepared antenatal classes for expectant parents

• early pregnancy classes

• pre-conception classes

• classes specially designed for teens, single parents, women planning to have a VBAC, caesarean or epidural

• high risk pregnancy classes

• parenting classes

• breastfeeding classes

As an Antenatal Teacher you can determine what format of classes you will provide, depending on the needs of your classes and what opportunities you see locally. Childbirth International will help you by providing sample curriculums for teaching your classes but you will have the freedom to teach any style or format that you feel will benefit your clients.

Antenatal Teachers will learn how to teach classes that are interactive and fun, focusing on adult teaching techniques throughout their training.
