Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accredited?
Is Childbirth International accredited with
a national or international body?
There is no national or international body that
recognises a standard of training for Birth Doulas, Postnatal Doulas,
Antenatal Teachers or Breastfeeding Counsellors at this point in time.
The only accreditation or recognition bodies that exist have all been
established by training organisations and therefore cannot be seen as
truly overseeing birth professions in an independent way. This is
something that we would hope to see in the future. However, we believe
that our training program is of the highest standard and the most
comprehensive available. If you would like to know what it is like
training with Childbirth International, you can read what our students
have to say about us in the pages on Meet Our Students.
"Having such experienced doulas to discuss all sorts
of birth topics was great! I now feel confident & prepared
to perform my tasks as a labour doula because of this course.
Thanks to you all!" Jeanne, Alabama
